Computer History: I owned an Amiga then PC so languages I have dabbled with are BASIC, 68k Assembler, HTML2, ANSI C89, Visual C#, SQL92 and am now learning the front end languages JS, HTML5, CSS so I can get more work, although it is getting more competitive in the global market.
Currently studying a Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical) I've also done a lot of Electrical papers, as Electronics/computers are my passion. Also it's easier (well cheaper) to start a IT business because of the software costs Linux/FreeBSD with GNUC or CLANG compared to Mechanical Engineering with Windows and SOLID Works ($8KUSD annual cost a year, but it's worth it).
Fascinated about the open source movement, Open source software (Free C compiler, GNU, OS NetBSD, FreeBSD, Linux), Hardware (Arduino a massive change), 3D Printing (Reprap).
Very Optimistic about the future because of current technologies i.e, Arduino, 3D Printing, YouTUBE (yeah I know it does have problems), which can be used in developing countries to recycle waste. I always used to get annoyed at seeing all the plastic waste, but after watching a video how a dutch store was recycling plastic for 3d Printers, there is optimism how it can be recycled and used for better products (Croc shoes, boats, engines, mini generators).
