I thought it might be a nice idea to start a thread where we can tell each other a little bit more about ourselves outside of our shared interest in *BSD. I've participated in these types of threads on other forums before and they have generally been fun and interesting, so here it goes... Tell us something (anything) about you. What are some of your hobbies outside of your *BSD/ *NIX life? I'll go first. P.S. This is not prescriptive, feel free to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable - Where are you from: Melbourne, Australia - What do you do for a living: I'm Social Worker working for an Australia wide mental health service. I work with a team of multi-disciplinary staff to support our indigenous communities affected by complex trauma, alcohol and drug addiction, and homelessness. - What are your hobbies: Other than tech, I really enjoy cycling. Melbourne is a great city for riding because it's mostly flat. I recently started brewing my own beer and it wasn't bad. I like Stout in the winter and IPA in the summer. - What are you listening to lately: Lately I've been getting into Polyphia cos I'm also a bit of a guitar nerd. But on regular rotation is Dance Gavin Dance . That said, my all time favourite band is NOFX and by extension I'm really digging this album by Chabad Religion . Where are you from: I’m from Lecce but I live in Bergamo (Italy). What do you do for a living: I’m a Solutions Architect. What are your hobbies: Reading, mostly. What are you listening lately: Classical (Strauss and Handel are my favourites) and Opera (Puccini’s La Bohème and Rossini’s The Barber of Seville are my favourites, followed by Verdi’s Aida). That said I’m also into electronic music, so I enjoy listening hardtek, dubstep, deep house and so on.

I'm a guy from Sweden living in Japan. Interested in minimalism. Hobbies and activities outside of tinkering with NetBSD and single board computers mostly includes interaction design, reading and taking walks. I'm an all eater when it comes to music, one song I often listen to recently is Decades by Skjalg A. Skagen.

Another new father moves to BSD. There must be some correlation between the two as I was the same when I started using BSD 3 years ago and The Deamon who posted above also being a new dad.

Where are you from? Eastern Europe, but living in England.
About myself: I am a college student atm. who is fed up with Windows and Linux community, so this is why I prefer to stay with openBSD. I also want to go on digital security course in my college, and I am currently using minifree.org thinkpad x200 with osboot and coreboot Seabios, and openBSD runs like a dream on it :)

Most of linux users remind me of windows users a lot...
I am also not able to stick to one distro at all... However openBSD is openBSD :).

I love lot sorts of music. My favourite genre is progressive metal though.

I'm from Venezuela but living at the moment in Chile, retaking the BSD world with FreeBSD and NetBSD mostly, but I have NetBSD installed right now as my main OS in an old Hp laptop.

Hobbies: I like video games, specially retro video games, NES, SNES, etc, watch tv series, movies and music from 50's to early 2000's and if it's in vinyl records better!
