nortonham JuvenalUrbino I've read this one before and I really like it and generally like his writing.
nortonham http://undeadly.org/cgi?action=article;sid=20220721122727 OpenBSD current has moved to 7.2 beta
joany NetBSD 9.3 released https://blog.netbsd.org/tnf/entry/netbsd_9_3_released guess i will have a fun Sunday 😆
nortonham https://www.theregister.com/2022/08/10/netbsd_93/ A look at NetBSD 9.3 from The Register. I thought it was pretty poorly written myself, but I suppose it's from the perspective of someone who hasn't used it before.
nortonham yeti Possibly....or more likely just a writer that is used to doing things the linux way. A couple of the criticisms in the article were valid imo, but some others I didn't think were fair. Hopefully when 10 is released the same author gives it more of a chance.
nortonham joany Yeah I didn't get it. The author has lots of experience. I assume it's trying to be an article from a new user's perspective. But we all started somewhere, and are able to figure it out and how to use it just fine.
yeti nortonham he author has lots of experience. I think they didn't even find the guide and especially the example install section. After an epic excuse that article should be taken down!
nortonham FreeBSD - a lesson in poor defaults : https://vez.mrsk.me/freebsd-defaults.html This is doing the rounds......I don't know what to make of it myself but I would be interested to hear everyone else's thoughts on it.
nortonham yeti I'm not sure about that, but I see where you're coming from. I've been messaging with the author on the hacker news page about the article. They're pretty engaging, and responding in a calm way, which is nice to see.
