• NetBSD
  • netbsd as a daily driver and issues

Hello all,
I have setup NetBSD on my VMs and on an old laptop.
Now my question is: is anybody using it as a daily driver?
Because nowadays when working in IT tools like slack, zoom, teams and others seem to be at the base of remote working, unfortunately.

How do you solve these issues?

Can you share some ideas?

    netbsdnoob

anybody using it as a daily driver?

    Yes.

    tools like slack, zoom, teams

    Garbage.

How do you solve these issues?

Unfortunately, I need to use Windows at work, so there's nothing to solve.
Outside of work, I don't need that crap.

pin yeah i know it's crap but we are forced to use it anyway.
It would be cool to be able to launch that stuff from a VM. Do you think it would be possible from nvmm with a properly setup GNU/Linux?

netbsdnoob Never tried but, I got Netflix running on a Linux vm using emulators/haxm, before nvmm was a thing, so it should work.

Remote meeting stuff generally Just Works in firefox providing you (a) use a current kernel to get the fixes for the webcam driver if your webcam is usb3 (b) set your user agent to windows/linux

I am going to try all these things now. Anyway it seems like my webcam does not work I am on a thinkpad 450s

pin ok but there is no description, i mean what is that supposed to be? a slack client from command line?
