While OBSD moved to another country to not have to deal with gov bs, FBSD enbrace almost every gov in the world. That is sad, bc I realy like FBSD.

I thought OpenBSD went to Canada due to crypto laws in the US at the time (mid nintes). These days, AFAIK, the export laws on crypto are no more so there is no real Gov Interference. If any OS has interference I think it would be Linux, and I very much doubt any of that is happening.

Anyway I believe Germany giving to FreeBSD is a good thing, plus the way the *BSDs work together, changes made due these donations on FreeBSD will probably help the other BSDs 🙂

jmcunx Exactly, OBSD moved so it didn't have to deal with it, and the fact the law don't exist anymore is lucky and it is out of the scope of our current conversation.

The matter of the fact is, one OS avoided the GOV and the other one embrace it. Very dangerous mindset.

History shows that goverments are only frindly when they cannot be violent. Other wise they will always choose dominance and subjulgation over diplomacy and trade.

Jay I just read a phoronix article about this. Surely this has to be good news for all BSD's.

Jay I saw it that Dell it is one of the supporters, maybe corporate Dell laptops (e.g. Latitude) are the new hot deal for FreeBSD
