EDIT: The situation is indeed sad. One of the very few BSD "distros" migrating over to Linux.
As a Void user, I still find it a bit hilarious, specially being also a musl user.
From a Void user perspective, I think the gains will be limited. Project Trident will most probably bring in Lumina DE and ZFS. Honestly, and no hard feelings please, I don't really care about either. As a tiling WM user, I won't bother with Lumina. As for ZFS..., my hard drives are too small for me to even bother about it.
Hopefully, this will raise the number of packages on musl 🙂
From a musl-libC user perspective, I think its great to have an easy way into musl. Although, honestly I don't think it will really have any impact. If you are thinking about using musl-libC than, you're most probably, already capable of building your own system. musl-libC will in many user cases, bring some frustration to beginners.
As a NetBSD user, I think its sad to see a BSD distro going away. We could use a few more and not one less 🙁
Here in BSD land, it would be nice to attract a few more users by making the entry level a bit easier. Although, personally I'd still be using a simple WM, I think it would be great to increase the number of people using BSD systems.
