Two observations:
we need a pinned post for admin announcements, user feedback, and bug reporting (one open to replies).
the new link preview feature is buggy (doesn't work very well, is slow, and crashed Opera and Firefox on Android more than once in my case), adds a significant load burden on the site content (accessibility concerns), and makes posts less readable and organized. I propose to consider disabling it.

Agreed.
I agree about the link preview. I'm not sure it adds much and it often makes posts less readable, and feel more cluttered.
Agree too about admin using pinned posts for announcements
