If there are directories (with files) belonging to other users, for instance root
, inside ~/Desktop
, then you may get a permission denied
or somesuch error. Is that what's happening? If yes, then remove the directory as root
.
Otherwise, it looks like a corrupted filesystem. Use the NetBSD USB install, or boot into single-user mode; then when asked for the shell, type
/rescue/sh
and run fsck:
/rescue/fsck_ffs -fP /dev/rXXX
where XXX
is your root device.
