tcmart14 The EFnet channel is dead but the IRCnet channel is likely one of the most active NetBSD groups (for historical reasons). It's more busy than the #netbsd freenode channel ever was, but has an older, primarily German user base (although most chat is in English).
Since neither networks have services, neither channel is "owned" by the NetBSD Foundation, so they get pretty weird from time to time.
pkgsrc is a NetBSD project, but because it works on other operating systems too, there's a small number of people who'd probably rather it wasn't a NetBSD project, and a lot more normies. Such is life.
