TheDantee I bought the Mac as I wanted to use an old 1990s Polaroid Sprintscan 35mm negative scanner, which requires SCSI and uses some 1990s MacOS software which only runs on Classic MacOS.
So I scan film with it in MacOS (8.6).
Then I made it dual-boot NetBSD coz I've been using NetBSD since the 1990s also. First on a Mac IIci.
So far I've just been messing around with NetBSD. I have ssh up, irssi, I tried X11 which works OK but Firefox runs too slowly to be of much use to me. However, Firefox does work which is more than I can say for the Classic MacOS web browsers which are nearly completely useless in 2023.
I was going to play with Ada programming on it but Ada doesn't run on NetBSD/macppc. So then I tried using Qemu in an attempt to emulate x86 NetBSD (runs Ada) on my ppc NetBSD box (ha!) but got an error when starting Qemu.
I might install Apache, PHP and MySQL and mess around with TextPattern.
I guess it's mostly just a hobby machine.
