GhostBSD is based on FreeBSD and just adds a graphical environment out of the box. I, as a novice, just right for a start

libinput has never worked for me though. Even when I was using Ubuntu based distros I had to revert to synaptics.

I still have libinput on my Void laptop but, without synaptics I get no tap-to-click which, IMHO, is more important than two-fingers-scrooling.
So, synaptics it is 😉

burntnoodle OpenBSD is very cool for any use ! And it has many dedicated users. The only thing that it misses is graphics drivers like freebsd and some more software ported.

Ahh tint2 is cool. I used to have a cool tint2 config. It's not as common these days with most people using polybar or the other *bar's. Does the icon on the left open a menu? And is that even necessary on openbox when you have the righ-click menu? Just curious 🤔

I've tried all of the other bars, but I just personally prefer tint2. I know mine is pretty basic, but that's what I like. 😉😄 I used to make my tint2 bars with more on them, but I'm getting older and crodgedy...and just like simplicity now. Hahaha!
Yes, the icon on the left is my one guilty-pleasure...it opens a full-screen Rofi menu (well...almost full-screen). I have it set so that it doesn't cover the panel). I rarely use it though. It's just there for when I want to impress myself. LOL!!!
I did have a volume icon showing (using the tray-app package), but I rarely used it...mostly just use my volume keys. So I removed it from the panel.
I have the clock set to open up a calendar (which uses yad to provide the calendar).
I'll attach a picture of the menu so you'll see what I'm talking about in case I didn't make sense. I have a light-colored Rofi menu too for if I want to use a light theme.
