GhostBSD is based on FreeBSD and just adds a graphical environment out of the box. I, as a novice, just right for a start

@"deadblackclover"#p35 Yes, I know ghost is based on FreeBSD. I was just curious. There are dozens of linux distros based on ubuntu and/or arch, but when you use screenfech/neofetch their own logo is displayed. Guess ghost didn't bother doing their own ascii art ? Anyway, nice looking screen.

pfr I use sysctl to adjust the brightness. On the Pinebook Pro I use the command "sysctl -w hw.pwmbacklight0.level=160" to set the display to 60% brightness.

Update: realized that the color accuracy on the PineBook Pro isn't that good - far from bad but it's noticeable to the eye that neutral colors are ever so slightly tinted blue/purple. Here is a screenshot of my desktop running on a ROCKPro64 with a calibrated screen, should give a more accurate representation of how I see the colors in comparison to my last screenshot.

Some minor changes for me.. I switch back and forth from solid colour walls to HD pictures.. digging this burgundy at the moment though.
Ohh and some subtle shadows and transparency using picom

pfr Good taste! I like the harmony of the beige and burgundy. I used to contemplate a lot whether to use a solid color or wallpaper as background, it's now been a full year since I switched to only using solid colors - don't regret the minimalist distraction free environment.
