GhostBSD is based on FreeBSD and just adds a graphical environment out of the box. I, as a novice, just right for a start

deadblackclover Yes, I know ghost is based on FreeBSD. I was just curious. There are dozens of linux distros based on ubuntu and/or arch, but when you use screenfech/neofetch their own logo is displayed. Guess ghost didn't bother doing their own ascii art ? Anyway, nice looking screen.

So I also happened to have a first date today.
It was with ctwm. Think I'm in love.
Long time dwm user, will be switching to ctwm on my daily driver for a month or two to see wether this will develop into a longterm relationship or if it just was a quick fling.

Despite dwm already being bare bones, ctwm is lighter on resources and feels snappier on my ROCKPro64. Oh, and ctwm is now the default wm on NetBSD Arm (-current) - Thanks @nia

Don't get me wrong, spectrwm is a nice WM.

The music is just me piping the mpv output through the ruby gem "lolcat" 🐱

renders the colored output of the SomaFM Defcon Radio feed. 🎶
I also found the little "mkplaylist" utility in pkg which just writes the contents of a directory to a playlist, so I can make little playlist scripts for mpv. So far, the command "steviewonder" plays "Songs in the Key of Life" with rainbow colorized output.
The minimalist games minimalists play. 😆
The color bar at the bottom is just what you thought, a line at the bottom of the wallpaper. I copied the terminal color choices into a color pallet so i can do little things like that.
Also, i keep logging back into dwm. I'm not sure i can do the monogamy thing with window managers.

pin yes this is 'my' old hp laptop (hp probook 4320s) it's pretty small, about 10 inches. That's what I like about it. All drivers even for wifi are working

I installed HEAD a few months ago but changed back to STABLE because wifi kept connecting and disconnecting.

EDIT: 9.99.69 at the time.

pin Don't think there's any important changes to wifi drivers in HEAD due to the wifi stack rework happening on another branch. We installed -current on a friend's Ivy Bridge X1 Carbon recently which had an iwn and all the hardware was fine. iwm meanwhile is questionable regardless of version and is the wifi driver my laptop uses (;. Dunno about the progress on the wifi rework branch but porting iwn was a priority and it seems they made a bit of progress.
