Ok, its about time I gave something like this a try. I will most likely fail and face many roadblocks so perhaps I will begin another thread to document my experience and ask questions.

I actually wasn't aware I could have a private pkgsrc tree! This sounds interesting and it looks like I've got some reading to do 🤓

stumpwm - It's currently in pkgsrc/wip but its a ~~bit~~ lot out of date and fails to build.

EDIT: I get that packaging for lisp might not be in everyone's wheelhouse but I just thought I'd throw a Hail-Mary. And I know I've made more than a few package requests, and many have been fulfilled. I'd just like take a moment to clarify that under no circumstances do I ever expect anything from anyone. I greatly appreciate the work that all developers contribute to NetBSD and I simply ask because I can. In fact I'm quite suprised and impressed (and humbled) that no one has told me to bugger off yet 🤣

Just wondering if NetBSD has any other dedicated Gemini client besidesbombadillo?

I use amfora on linux for a TUI interface, but I also quite enjoy fafi (has tabs!) or castor (which also supports gopher and finger protocols) for GUI. Another GUI client which I haven't tried is kristall which also supports a few oter protocols and is built on QT rather than GTK and I would be equally please to have this available on NetBSD

Not dedicated but, some of the ones you mention also support gopher and are not gemini only.
You already know this but, there's also ncgopher, which supports both gemini and gopher protocols.

Current (F)Elinks is nice too but I think the ones in pkgsrc and wip don't have gemini: support yet. Maybe someone can update it?

That's probably because it's using a "GUI toolkit" that is more often used for games 😆

A couple of things I still miss on pkgsrc are pyradio and....MATLAB 🤣 (anybody attempted to make in work on the compat layer recently?), so as to run SPM12

@nia It looks like you are/were maintaining wmutils in pkgsrc (last updated in 2017...)

Just checking if it's up to date. I plan to give wmutils a try this year, been wanting to try it for a while now.

In addition to this, I'd like to run glazier or perhaps even fwm underneith/alongside wmutils. I haven't tried these on NetBSD yet but perhaps they could be worth packaging also?

pfr Nope, never heard of it. I was last to touch the files but I was last to touch 20000 files in pkgsrc due to some very wide changes.

fwm has no releases or tags. Also, it requires mmutils and wmutils-libwm and there're no packages for these.

As for glazier I can see releases but where are the tarballs? It also requires wmutils-libwm.

Somehow, I've missed this post.

@pfr wmutils-core in pkgsrc is v1.2 released Nov 2015, the current version is v1.6 from Oct 2021

I would really love to see OpenRA packaged on pkgsrc. I realize it's a graphic engine, so not really something one couldn't live without.
