How to set wpa_supplicant to be able to use wpa_gui?

Hello;
I read your post for newcomers, it's very nice and to the point. Thanks for that.
My question is this:
"How could I set wpa_supplicant and the rest of the system to be able to search and connect to SSIDs by wpa_gui?"
Not to set a fixed access point in the config file? search and connect to any access point I want by wpa_gui?

johnb I don't use wpa_gui but, manually configure one connection and adjust rc.conf, for details see this post, install wpa_gui and you should be able to configure additional connections.

You can copy wpa_supllicant from example folder at located /usr/share/examples/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf copy it to /etc/

Also set up /etc/rc.conf as per your wifi device

wpa_supplicant=YES wpa_supplicant_flags="-B -D bsd -i iwn0 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf" dhcpcd=YES dhcpcd_flags="-qM iwn0 -b"

johnb in order for wpa_gui to be able to 'speak' with wpa_supplicant you need to specify:
ctrl_interface_group=<your_primary_group_here>
inside /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf

Jay copy it to /etc/rc.conf
