TayBN I intend to switch from Linux to BSD as a desktop daily driver
Sounds like a plan...
I'm using NetBSD with spectrwm
on my laptop as a daily driver 😉
TayBN I typically use dwm or bspwm as my desktop
It shouldn't be a problem...
TayBN What are some main benefits of BSD compared to Linux?
Maybe do some research, this question has been asked many times in many places. It really depends on your user case and also on your hardware.
For me; a full OS, less Microsoft, no systemd
, closer to its roots, simplicity, ...less is more.
TayBN what are some of the best BSD distros for desktop
There are not many distros, all the major BSD's are different OS's. FreeBSD has a few "distros", though. As for the others, the choice is somewhat limited. But, if you plan to use a simple tiling WM, you will most probably want to build your system from scratch anyway.
TayBN how well is software supported?
Tell us what you use it for. It will make it easier to know if you'd be fine or, if you will have to offer a few things.
BTW, I can only answer about NetBSD as that's what I use.
