Yeah, I think the DRM driver needs to get involved for HDMI to work.

The sndiod manpage says:

    sndiod will not automatically switch to specified device that

    device with -f allows sndiod to use the USB one preferably when
    it's connected and to fall back to the PCI one when it's
    disconnected.

so, maybe you can switch by setting server.device to something else using sndioctl

I notice two SPDIF outputs on those motherboard:

Egual, the outputs.mode is digital 😉

The sndiod server started with flag -c0:9.
And it seems functional.

But when I'm on my user session, I've not sound!
Audacious, or mocp runs correctly, but not sound; I cant heard my terrible music! 🙁 🫣

How can I resolve this (saddly) situation?

I checked too, my optical cable to connect on other device, it "sounds" correctly.

OK, I've one success by reset sndiod with flag only on -c2:3!

OK. Today, I tested to configure daemon with flags:
rcctl set sndiod flags -c 2:3 -s default

and, after start again sndiod service is OK!

$ pgrep -lf sndiod                              
1685 /usr/bin/sndiod -c 2:3 -s default
57195 sndiod: helper

This seems good! :p
