5 BSDs - but as UnitedBSD has no GhostBSD tag you can count as 4 BSDs

But tag count cap is 3 so one of BSDs is left overboard.

Please raise the cap and assign missing "OpenBSD" tag to the posts, if possible.

I would have to disagree. GhostBSD is based on FreeBSD and not a different BSD. In that case, we would need to also add Fuglta, just to give an example.

pin There is an OS108 tag which is NetBSD. This way either other derivatives - FuguIta, GhostBSD, NomadBSD, helloSystem - distrowatch knows 16 BSDs in total - should be allowed, or OS108 should be put back to NetBSD.

I thought OS108 enjoys some popularity at UnitedBSD, so it has a dedicated tag. Other derivatives aren't discussed much, so no tag for them... Seems fair...

I personally need no additional tags for now...

uxer OS108 is @Jay baby. The forums were merged sometime ago, you'd have to ask him but, if I had to guess, it's probably admin related.

I prefer it without any banner too.

Honestly, I don't see the point of this discussion. Simply close the banner and it won't show again, as long as you don't logout.

But yes, just like the rabbits, get rid of it.

Daemonforums.org was a popular "BSD" forum that was quite active until FreeBSD split off with their own forum. It had a wealth of howto's that unfortunately were lost when the certificate expired concurrent with the Administrator dealing with a terminal cancer. Member "arp242" used to be known as "Carpetsmoker" and initially setup Daemonforums. Link on FreeBSD Forum

FreeBSD also has a thread on useful scripts that has swelled to 19 pages as of the time of this post.

Consider adding howto and script sections - particulary targeting NetBSD and OpenBSD.

Edit: On my daily stroll, it occurred to me that you could link to DaemonForums "howto's" on the WayBack archive. DaemonForums certificate expired the end of June 2026. Any objections, in regards to who owns the content, from the moderator's if I do this? Where to put such a thread?

Edit2: I attempted to find the daemonforum howtos in the WayBack archive. Only the main pages were available. Unless someone has an alternative way to dredge them up , they are gone.
