unicorn Have no idea why there isn't any packages about chinese engine for ibus, I guess no one have enough knowledge or time or don't even know about it to port to OpenBSD. If you feel brave you can try to check any chinese engine over here https://github.com/ibus/ibus/wiki like bus-pinyin for example, grab a source code and compile it, try to patch it and make it work. If you have done and want to contribute try to submit a patch to OpenBSD 😀
But if you don't have enough time and knowledge to port ibus you can use this https://openports.se/inputmethods/fcitx-chinese-addons., I never use fcitx before so good luck when making it work. Hope that this can be a temporary solution.
I currently try to port Vietnamese engine, it is compiled perfectly but I struggle to make it work, I guess I need to spare more time for it. 😐
