I'm very curious to know just how it's possible for a somewhat feature rich wm like ctwm to have such a RIDICULOUS low memory footprint at around 4MB of ram?
I wouldn't consider ctwm to be bloated software - it's a fairly minimal wm by modern standards as stated on the official homepage. However, it's for sure not the leanest thing out there with almost all the bells and whistles you'd wish from a floating wm.
What's making me scratch my head is that "minimalist" window managers like dwm and cwm even consumes more ram at around 6MB.. My guess is due to FreeType support?
I've tested a lot of other extremely minimal window managers such as sowm, 2bwm, evilwm etc which lands around the 2-3MB range but then you start some other program like an application launcher like 9menu which is lacking from the wm itself by design - and the total consumed RAM goes up to ~ 4MB anyways..
