GhostBSD is based on FreeBSD and just adds a graphical environment out of the box. I, as a novice, just right for a start

deadblackclover Yes, I know ghost is based on FreeBSD. I was just curious. There are dozens of linux distros based on ubuntu and/or arch, but when you use screenfech/neofetch their own logo is displayed. Guess ghost didn't bother doing their own ascii art ? Anyway, nice looking screen.

burntnoodle OpenBSD is very cool for any use ! And it has many dedicated users. The only thing that it misses is graphics drivers like freebsd and some more software ported.

nortonham netbsd is fast on nvidia graphics cards but i don't know what configuration it needs for amd graphics cards also touchpad doesn't seem to work but its performance is really good and it is generally stable , with openbsd on xfce for example i get random blinks it shows the windows under the active windows for a moment , doesn't seem to have nice performance and stability.

I wouldn't recommend xfce on openbsd at least not with modern amd gpus, tried it myself it has some problems with the compositor. It runs but you may experience some strange visuals like blinking to the windows behind your active window etc doesn't seem to me stable nor fast . I use Openbox with compton it works like a charm on my system very good stable and fast experience .

Thought it was easier to reinstall after the mess with pkgdb move and took the opportunity to install HEAD instead.
