I've tried all of the other bars, but I just personally prefer tint2. I know mine is pretty basic, but that's what I like. 😉😄 I used to make my tint2 bars with more on them, but I'm getting older and crodgedy...and just like simplicity now. Hahaha!
Yes, the icon on the left is my one guilty-pleasure...it opens a full-screen Rofi menu (well...almost full-screen). I have it set so that it doesn't cover the panel). I rarely use it though. It's just there for when I want to impress myself. LOL!!!
I did have a volume icon showing (using the tray-app package), but I rarely used it...mostly just use my volume keys. So I removed it from the panel.
I have the clock set to open up a calendar (which uses yad to provide the calendar).
I'll attach a picture of the menu so you'll see what I'm talking about in case I didn't make sense. I have a light-colored Rofi menu too for if I want to use a light theme.
