Hey everyone, I'm new here, so time for an introduction!
From: Central-Eastern Europe (I know, that's not a thing, let me cope)
What I do for a living: I'm a Linux/Unix SysAdmin and currently getting more and more into DevOps and Cloud
My hobbies: reading, podcasts, cooking, learning languages (currently working towards C1 German and HSK4 Mandarin Chinese), tinkering with old-tech (like my old T60 ThinkPad), calisthenics, decluttering/minimalism and occasionally writing
Why BSD? I've been interested in Linux virtually my whole life (my computing journey started with SuSE in the early 2000s), and after starting working in the field I slowly went deeper and deeper into the Unix rabbit-hole. I even have nostalgia for Sun's Solaris although I've never actually used it. This was kind of how I learned about BSDs, and recently I've decided to give it a proper spin. I also feel like the BSD community, being smaller than the Linux one, is a friendlier place with less elitism - that, or I just haven't been part of it for long enough, but I'm really hoping it's the first 😃
oui Is there someone else here that ferments food?
Yes! We ferment cucumbers quite often, it's kind of a traditional thing here. Also, ever since I've visited South-Korea 2 years ago I've been wanting to make kimchi at home. I've yet to find the time and ingredients to do so.
How is kefir working out for you? It's one of my favourite foods (drinks?) and would love to make it at home!
