This is a ACPI or Battery HW bug. Look at these values in the output above:
Remaining battery life: invalid value (0xffffffff)
...
Battery 0
not present
...
Remaining battery life:
should not have an invalid value.
Technology: primary (non-rechargeable)
The (non-rechargeable)
doesn't look right. Your battery is removeable, right?
Design voltage: 122270mV
No laptop battery that I know of supplies 122V. This looks almost like US A/C line voltage.
Capacity (low):
is too low.
No Model number:
State: not present
Present voltage: unknown
Both wrong.
Other output is also missing--This screendump was made using the FreeBSD-12.1-RELEASE USB installer, right? Please do not use any other installer (OpenBSD/Hardened BSD/FreeBSD-STABLE/FreeBSD-current) for the time being.
You say Linux doesn't have any problems on this laptop, so boot into Linux and run this command:
cat /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/uevent
Post the output and also the output of dmesg
on Linux.
