Most of the time wifi will not benefit from USB 3.0.
The fastest devices supported by both are probably Broadcom FullMAC (as shipped on the pinebook pro - full 11n/ac support on NetBSD), using the bwfm driver. Supposedly USB devices are available, but you'll quickly learn that manufactures don't like honestly labelling which chipsets they are using.
urtwn will be the first reworked driver on NetBSD to use the new wifi stack with 11n halfMAC support, you might be in luck that your D-Link is supported by that driver, in which case you might be able to try the development topic on Mercurial...
