Hi, I tried this week-end to install NetBSD on my computers, motivated by https://tech.lgbt/@nina_kali_nina/117441043503225633 , but all my attempts failed. Each time with the same issue.
Here is what I tried: I wrote the img file (NetBSD 11.0, amd64, USB image) with gnome-disk (Linux user here since 2009). And both on a Lenovo Yoga 370 and a Purism Librem13 laptop, I obtained the same failure: I can't reach sysinst.
In both case, and for all their USB ports, I select option 1: Install NetBSD, then I guess the kernel tries to start, and I have all the verbose lines in green. But on them, three or four uhub errors, and then the kernel looks like loosing contact with its own drive/media.
Prompting me with the same questions in loop:
[timestamp] boot device:
[timestamp] root device:
[timestamp] dump device:
[timestamp] filesystem:
I tried all options, all combinations, all devices... Nothing.
I tried all the USB ports of my machine, the USB-C port with an adaptor for my pen-drive, same. I tried also another pen-drive, same. I also tried to write the img on a microSD card and try to boot through the card reader but this time it was not an option my BIOS could do. I tried the CD image on the pen-drive, but this one halted at the start tring to look for a CD-ROM hardware (both my laptops don't have that)
Well, I'm stuck. Help?
Reference: the closer not answered thread here looking like my issue was this one:
#1115 , but being from 2023 and a way older version, I preferred to open a new thread here.
