I did get an email reply from Thomas Klausner (wiz at netbsd | org) and it looks like the only way to submit is by generating an ssh key. Github pkgsrc-wip is read only.
I still have software issues with calcurse and building wip/freecad
In the interim I've developed a visual field defect that is getting me sent to a specialist 110 miles away. I think I know what it is - if confirmed it should not worsen but also will not resolve.
I'm going to cut down on my screen time for now. I'll share what I have on jgmenu and if anyone wants to carry this one, feel free.

jgmenu is a simple, independent and contemporary-looking X11 menu, designed
for scripting, modding and tweaking.
It is hackable and has a simple code base. It does not depend on any toolkits
such as GTK and Qt, but uses cairo and pango to render the menu.
It can optionally use some appearance settings from XSettings, tint2 and GTK.
