I recently switched my old 32bit Netbook from FreeBSD to NetBSD as 32bit support is getting wound up over there and apps I was using were disappearing off the package list. I was able to use Thunderbird on FreeBSD and it worked ok, I was able to use my Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo accounts without any problems. So far on NetBSD, I have tried Claws Mail, Alpine and Evolution but nothing will connect to Outlook, oauth2 doesn't work and app passwords are not accepted. I have tried troubleshooting but just keep ending up down rabbit holes and failing to get it to work. My Hotmail is my main personal email so it has to work. Could anyone with a similar setup suggest a client that still works with Outlook without proxys etc?
