osabi-NetBSB ?

I upgraded from 10.0 to 10.1 NetBSD amd64, no issues occurred
I then upgraded pkgsrc from 2024Q3 to 2024Q3, no issues

On 10.0 I had to manually build emacs29 to force the use of gtk2. Seems the issue of emacs29+gtk3 carried over to 2024Q4/10.1

I went to build emacs29 via pkgsrc 2024Q4 on 10.1, it failed on osabi-NetBSD-10.0. I did a
'pkgin remove osabi-NetBSD-10.0'
and the build was able to continue.

Now for the question as I am curious. Does anyone know what osabi-NetBSD is used for ?

Note, what emacs29 with gtk3 does is sometimes freezes X when accessing menus in GUI mode.

It's just there to make sure packages built with it don't try to run in older versions of NetBSD, hopefully because they actually can't. You don't really need it unless you are building packages with that option turned on. In which case, it will be built automatically anyway, so you don't really have to worry about it.
