You can test if your Intel 945GM is hardware accelerated for NetBSD by running the command glxinfo in a terminal.
If direct rendering is active, then your graphics card is hardware accelerated.
Most probably you will have firmware available when you choose Xsets while installing.
Edit : https://man.netbsd.org/intel.4 says 945GM is supported.
