I stumbled accros CobaltBSD today and honestly have not heard of it before. Looks like it's only been around since June last year? I used the OpenBSD tag on this post as it's based on OpenBSD

Still no available downloads on their Main Page but I am liking the look of NeoSurf.

Anyone have any thoughts on this project? Personally I'd love to see NeoSurf in pkgsrc so I could give it a try.

Having a usable version of NetSurf would be massively cool, even if it's sadly GPL infected. To bad the readme is pretty much quiet in regards to how they plan to iron out the problems inherited from the original NetSurf project.

    Any new passionate effort in BSD land is a welcome sight in my opinion. Although, I would assume this project to be an OpenBSD 'distro', rather than a full-blown separate system. Will definitely watch how it grows further.

    It won't infect every page you read with it and since it isn't a library it won't embed it in your other projects. <danger chipmunk music> Or will it? </danger chipmunk music>

    But yes... kind of related... I'd prefer a BSD-Emacs too...

        yeti would it be possible to stop masking Youtube videos in links? It's fine if you do it explicit and we all can see where it comes from.

        I don't want to touch Youtube and it's difficult to avoid when the url is hidden.

            pin Depending on which browser you use there might be URL rewrite plugins that would basically make avoiding YT into an automatism. Just have it redirect to localhost or invidious/piped/... (if that's your thing - also what i'm doing personally).

                pin Wouldn't just a mouse-over show the URL? I assumed every browser would have something similar today. Changing my text is not the nice way to react!

                    Sorry if you feel that way, it was not my intention. Also, in practice, I didn't change it, I simply highlighted the link was pointing to Youtube and, you were able to change it back.

                          That still is changing my text.

                          pin and, you were able to change it back.

                          I did not change it back to YT, I changed it to use Piped. You could have gotten exactly the same result by just asking. If really urgent, email would have given my change a booster.

                          Now I always will have the feeling that you just edit stuff to fit your taste. If you really want to say sorry, delete my account. That'll save @Jay some keystrokes.
