Which bsd is best for me? (beginner)

I am currently using Debian with xfce, i tried freebsd in qemu and netbsd on real hardware. Didnt tried openbsd yet. I want to use a bsd as my primary os. I liked the netbsd but it doesnt seems to have many needed packages (even chromium wasnt there). I am currently between openbsd and freebsd, which one is better and why?

Chromium is in pkgsrc wip. Many "missing" things that are common in Linux are there. Does it work? I have no idea, I don't really want to run it. But I suppose I could try it.

kc9udx it doesn't work. I guess (up-to-now) no one had enough interest and/or time to make it work. The patch load is simply too heavy.

On a side note, I agree with you. I wouldn't use it either.

pin a point I wanted to make, but I'm not sure if it's a valid point is that, things that work in NetBSD work because NetBSD users want them to work. Things that don't work, don't work because nobody cares enough to make them work.

kc9udx Mostly correct, there's so much one can do with the available resources.
There are certain things that would require too many changes to be possible to do, though.

Anyway hardware should point you to either OpenBSD or FreeBSD. If you have Nvidia, OpenBSD is not an option. Once you know if your hardware is fine, it mainly depends on your needs.

See what applications are needed and check on the status of the 2 OSs, Outside of security, I think OpenBSD is easier to install and maintain, FreeBSD may work better on your hardware.

Yes as jmcunx writes above hardware is key. As some one who purchases cheap laptops (I know longer live and work in Australia) I don't have a lot of money so I buy cheaper hardware and as such a lot of the hardware does not having working drivers with NetBSD i.e no Wifi Access so I either have to buy a supported dongle, Buy better hardware or code the driver my self (one day, one day).
