Hmm. The GCC versions in pkgsrc (except for 9.0) all delete libgcc_s.so* unconditionally.
Can you apply this patch, then recompile gcc and exiv2?

pin I did; but I was hoping to learn how to figure out the cause.

I'm an experienced programmer; but not in C and especially not in C++. Most errors building something with gmake/make, I can at least comprehend and many times circumvent or fix. This is not such a case.

Well, for usability purposes, I've gone back to 9.3 with pkgsrc 2023Q2 on everything I have, until the day I give up and upgrade everything to 10. So I'd like to try that but I don't have the original setup anymore.
